CS Spotlight: Meet Lee Anderson

Lee Anderson is the executive chef and owner of Sugar Beach Events on Maui, Hawaii, an internationally recognized oceanfront catering venue. She arrived on the island of Maui in 2004, joining the management team of Spago, a Wolfgang Puck restaurant, at the Four Seasons Resort. In 2007, she launched her first catering company which was a stepping stone to the bigger dream, Sugar Beach Events, opened in 2013.

Chef Lee has been highlighted on KITV News, Maui Now, Maui News, as a contributor for Catersource Magazine, as well as being a featured chef at several Hawaii food events, including the acclaimed Kapalua Wine and Food Festival and the Aipono Awards.

Chef Lee is driven by a passion for inventive and creative cuisine, emphasizing the beauty and simplicity of fresh, local food. She has always been an avid student of cuisine and is often traveling to catering and food conventions for new ideas. Her focus helps keep the business fresh and in line with contemporary trends, seasoned with influences from other cultures. Her continued excitement for food and quest for distinction predicts more delicious meals and devoted clients in the years ahead.

Creating Cooking Competitions for Corporate Team Building Experiences

What is one of the best ways to bring teammates together? Food, of course! A cooking competition is a great way to offer something unique and exciting to your corporate event clients. But don’t just come to this class to hear about why cooking classes are great for building teams—this hands on class will allow some attendees to go through the steps of a competition all the way to completion, while Chef Lee Anderson and her team offer the important information you’ll need to pitch and execute one for your next client. See the set up, move through the set up, and an attendee-team will be crowned winner!

Note: Ten competitors will be chosen by lottery amongst attendees in the class, others can follow along, learn, vote, and enjoy the finished products.
