Sterno Products Visits Catersource Office, Shows New SpeedHeat

A great day at Catersource yesterday when Thaddeus Smith of Sterno Products visited the office in Minneapolis!

Designed for drop off catering, the new Sterno SpeedHeat Flameless Food Warming System, unveiled at the National Restaurant Show in May 2018, offers instant heat and is perfect for any type of hot food hold encompassing less than an hour in time. The packets last about 30 minutes and residual heat will hold the temperature adequately for the remaining service.

Drop a packet into the holding tray (secured within a polypropylene base with an air pocket to keep the heat from directly touching a table), add 10 ounces of room temperature water, and in about 10 seconds, watch the magic happen.

No flame, set up and serve within minutes, and no having to pick up the equipment afterward. The trays are #5 recyclable, and the packs are disposable.

Currently only sold as a system, nothing is available a la carte (yet) but that may change depending upon demand, said Thaddeus Smith of Sterno Products. “We are redefining drop off catering,” he said.

Watch the video to see the product in action.

Many thanks to Thad Smith of Sterno Products for bringing this terrific inovation to our attention, as well as the delicious lunch (still entirely hot when staff returned for seconds!) contained inside.
