Design inspiration for the approaching holiday season

Artisan Holiday Greetings

You may be familiar with Dauphine Press as an artisan designer and printer of handcrafted letterpress wedding invitations, but they also have card and invitation collections that are perfect for holiday events and business greetings. Their new design collection is elegant but understated, and each project is custom crafted so you can add your own special touches.

Holiday Fabrics

There's no need to fall back on traditional red and green when rich new colors are making their holiday debut. The Wineberry color story shown here is from Robert Kaufman's Flourish 5 collection. The Peggy Toole designs contain multiple coordinated patterns in a variety of colors. Created from 100 percent cotton, the fabrics can be used for draping, table linens, pillows and more. Robert Kaufman sells wholesale and to the trade only.

Design Inspiration: Winter Wonderland

This holiday party, designed by Blueprint Studios of San Francisco, took place in a large tent. The concept was to replicate a winter forest environment within the tent. Blueprint hung twinkling lighting to evoke the feeling of stars, and created a winter forest wallscape mixed with real pine trees. The faux grass  added a soft feel and the picnic tables made the tent even more outdoor-like and cozy. The small blue buildings between the bars are custom-made iPad stations.

Christmas Crackers

A European tradition that is finding its way to the United States, these party toys are fun for kids and adults alike. Two revelers each take an end and pull. The cracker comes apart with a snap and gifts tumble out. Typically, the gifts include a paper crown, a joke or riddle and a novelty item. They can be customized for each event and some designs can be packaged in bulk packs of 50 crackers. These samples came from Olde English Crackers, which offers a rich variety of packaging options.

What's a holiday event without a signature cocktail? Here's one that sparkles!
