Holiday Lighting Inspiration

Holiday parties tend to evoke thoughts of crackling fireplaces, friendly chatter and steaming mugs filled with seasonal drinks. Oftentimes, this image is paired with lots (and lots!) of candles—what better way to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for guests?

The sky is the limit when it comes to lighting an event, but here are some of our favorite tips for this holiday season.

A glowing entry

One great way to kick off an event is to greet guests in style. What better way to say, “come on in” than to create a dazzling and inviting entrance with a blend of candles and seasonal décor? Line the pathway to the entrance with wax luminaries or arrange lanterns with LED lights down the steps of a staircase—it does not matter how it is done as long as it wows the guests!

Keep it neutral

It can be tempting to go big with all of the typical holiday colors, but we suggest going simple with neutral candles – think white or ivory pillars and tapers. Let the rest of the décor do the talking and allow the candles to do what they do best: light up the night!

Aim high

Candles are not the only way to shine—LED string lights are another gorgeous way to provide some mood lighting to a space. String lights are quite versatile, so they can be used in countless ways, whether it is done bistro-style or wrapped around a tree or décor fixture. Get creative with it!

Use vessels to your advantage

If you are looking to jazz up the display a bit, find some gorgeous candleholders that fit the event’s theme and place them around the venue. Vases and candelabras are a great choice for candles, but also pair well with string lights—coil them up inside or wrap them around a vessel for a dazzling effect.

Lighting plays a large role in most events, but holiday parties are especially known for their festive design. Aim for an ambience that is bright enough for everyone to see, but soft enough that it welcomes intimate conversations and fun activities—you can’t go wrong!
