Catersource + The Special Event crackled with excitement at the “Electric Bohemian” themed first evening event.

Nothing lights a spark of anticipation like a good theme event, and that’s exactly what kicked off the first night of Catersource + The Special Event, held this past February 12-15 in Austin, TX. Attendees who had gotten into town early enough to go on the day’s Venue Tour gathered their free-spirit selves for an electrifying soirée at Speakeasy, a bar and night club at the city’s original speakeasy. The theme, which Kristin Banta (Kristin Banta Events) predicted would be a hot theme in 2024 during her annual trend session, married the free-spirited essence of bohemian culture with the vivid allure of electric lights, combining eclectic décor with historic charm and modern innovation.

Electric bohemian isn't just an event; it's an immersive journey through the intersection of tradition and innovation.

Lauren Kelly and Morgan Hayward of Hello! Texas Destination Management chaired the event, welcoming attendees to Austin with Texas boho spirit. With food and beverages, a DJ, tarot readers, a Zoltar machine, and even bowling, the night was a vibrant start to a memorable week!

Cozy lounge seating offered the perfect sanctuary for networking and conversation.

We saw the disco ball trend take hold in 2023, and it’s not going away anytime soon. At Connect Social, disco balls were paired with roses and feathers for an eclectic tabletop

Frito Pie Station with BBQ pulled pork chili with shredded cheddar cheese, onions, and jalapenos accompanied by homemade tortilla chips with garden salsa, fresh guacamole, and southwest eggrolls with chicken.

Adding a few area rugs to the bar area instantly brought the bar from bare to cozy.
