Lon Lane is a native of Florida and holds a degree from the University of Florida in Advertising/Marketing. After 10 years of agency work, Lon joined Hallmark Cards in the field marketing division and then in 1982 moved to Kansas City to work in the corporate headquarters. Four years later, Lon started Lane & Company, his own marketing and consulting firm, and helped develop private and corporate catering businesses in the Kansas City area. In 1991, Lon co-founded Inspired Occasions as The Catering Company with his wife, Marcia, and has been serving and dazzling clients nationwide with his innovative and creative style ever since. Lon has served on the Board of Directors of The International Caterer’s Association and is Chairman of the ICA Educational Foundation. He also teaches and conducts event seminars and is a frequent presenter and speaker at event industry conferences nationwide.
