The bride’s vision for her wedding was to bring in meaningful touches that made friends and family feel as if they were right in their own backyard. 2010 ACE Award winner Window's Catering Company set out to deliver just that with an added dose of country chic.
The wedding was set in a tent in the bride’s parent’s yard and the event started off with happy hour law games including croquet and corn-hole (bean bag toss).
As guests prepared to seat themselves for dinner, they typed their names on her grandmother’s typewriter to “sign the guestbook” and flavored sodas were used as escort cards.
Kate wanted the table settings to feel like her grandmothers kitchen - a plate of jumbo assorted cookies was placed on each table as a centerpiece and the aroma of fresh baked cookies filled the tent. Instead of traditional linens, white paper covered each table with the table name written on them in a teal crayon. Mason jars of flowers were also used on the tables to embellish the country theme.
The bride wanted the food to be comforting and backyard friendly. Windows Catering created a menu that created backyard flare and brought in some Maryland touches like crab and shrimp:
