Vintage romance, a look that floral designer Inna Savluk of Butterfly Floral & Event Design in Los Angeles, CA worked with last year in these two events, will become all the more amplified next spring. Upon arriving in the United States, Ukrainian-born Savluk was lucky to have had the renowned floral company Mark's Garden as her first employer. After doing mostly corporate work back home, there she was introduced to the world of celebrity wedding floral. Upon going on her own six years ago, Savluk found a style that her wedding couples have embraced. For her, the butterfly of her company name is not only about transformation but also about making a connection to all that is colorful and beautiful. "Brides are looking for traditional vintage, although not too traditional and not too vintage," Savluk says with a laugh. Finding that fine line is Savluk's forte; one she illustrates with these two looks that will continue through Spring 2014. This elegant rustic look was as much inspired by the bride as the venue, Hummingbird Nest Ranch outside Los Angeles. A color palette of pink, white and peach accented with gold created the look that Savluk and planner Fancy That wanted to achieve.
Some tables were covered with ivory linen while others were left bare for an eclectic feel. Gold-edged glass base plates, gold candle bases and floral containers also added a touch of elegance to the Spanish country setting. Flowers used included pink hydrangea, garden roses, panama roses, lisianthus, wax flower, dusty miller, peonies and cafe au lait dahlias.
Pretty in pink, the perfect expression of elegance and casual, was the bridal bouquet wrapped in rhinestones.
The second look plays on the rustic, yet amps up the elegance by adding graceful manzanita centerpieces interspersed with tall silver candelabra based pieces. "The venue, Vibiana, is a very grand space, so the floral look needs to be bigger," Savluk says.
