Official Contest Rules Below are the official contest rules for the 2011 Catersource Boxed Lunch Contest, Tabletop Contest and the T-shirt Design Contest. Please read the following contest rules carefully before completing your entry(ies):

CATERSOURCE “OUT OF THE BOX” BOXED LUNCH CONTEST RULES
The “Out of the Box” Boxed Lunch Contest is taking place at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, Restaurant Commons and lunch attendees will arrive at noon. Please arrive at The Restaurant Commons between 11:30am and Noon on Monday. Your workstation will be assigned at that time. Attendees will enter the lunch, there will be brief introductions and then the contest will begin. You will have 25 minutes to create your boxed lunch creations.
1) Your team of two will receive complimentary tickets to the Boxed Lunch event for entering this contest.
2) There is a maximum of two people per entry and two entries per team. Space in the contest is limited to 24 entries total. All boxed lunch entries are subject to Catersource approval before being officially entered into the contest. Once we receive your entry form we will confirm your participation in the contest.
3) You may use any materials you want but vendors who are not official Conference Sponsors may NOT be visually or verbally promoted at this contest without written permission of Catersource/Event Solutions. You will be disqualified should this rule be broken.
4) Caterers that have products for sale are not permitted to promote or name their products. If you would like to sponsor the contest and promote your product, please contact Dave Pruka for sponsorship opportunities and/or exhibiting information.
5) Hair must be pulled back when building your lunch. Plastic gloves will be provided and are required to be worn. Kitchen and paper towels and one small, inexpensive paring-size knife per team will be provided. You may bring your own knives. Remember: you will need to put them in your checked luggage if you fly. You may wear chef coats or aprons if you wish, but they are not required or provided.
6) After you finish making your boxed lunch, entries will be placed on a display table next to a voting box with your team’s name on it.
7) Boxed Lunches will be judged in two categories during the “Out of the Box” Lunch event:
Best of Show winners will be selected by popular attendee vote. “Out of the Box” Lunch attendees will vote for their favorite Boxed Lunch by placing their voting tab in the voting box that corresponds to their choice during the lunch event. An independent panel will count the tabs to determine the winners.
Design Award winners will be selected by the Catersource and Event Solutions Advisory Boards. A first place winner will be awarded in each of three design categories: Most Viable Concept, Most Innovative and Best Themed Creation
8) When judging is finished, boxed lunch entries will be available for photography and viewing for the rest of the lunch time period. Contestants agree to allow attendees to photograph and/or video their buffets. Catersource is given permission to use photos and/or video of the displays in Catersource and/or Event Solutions magazine and/or marketing.
9) All “Out of the Box” Boxed Lunch contestants must be in full paid attendance at the 2011 Catersource Conference or the Event Solutions Idea Factory. Vendors/exhibitors are not eligible to enter this contest.

CATERSOURCE TABLETOP CONTEST RULES
The Tabletop Contest is taking place on the Tradeshow floor at the Las Vegas Convention Center Central Hall, 3150 Paradise Road, Las Vegas, NV 89109. 702.892.0711. Attendees are encouraged to watch the setup of these tabletops on Tuesday, March 1 with voting to follow on Wednesday.
1) Each display must consist of a table with seating for eight, and fit within a 10’x15’ space with a 12’ height restriction.
2) A 72” round table and 8 chairs will be provided for your display from what the Las Vegas Convention Center has in stock. All other equipment and design elements including specialty chairs or tables, linens, floral and other design elements are the contestant’s responsibility. You must notify us in advance if you intend on providing your own chairs and/or table.
3) Standard 5amp/120v electricity will be provided if requested. Any other electrical requirements are available from Freeman Exhibitor Services, call 702.263.1404 and be sure to mention you are with the Catersource Tabletop Contest.
4) The space has concrete floors and no carpeting will be provided. You are allowed to provide your own floor covering or you can order carpeting from Freeman (702.263.1404).
5) You may use any materials you want but vendors who are not official Conference Sponsors may NOT be visually or verbally promoted at this contest without written permission of Catersource/Event Solutions. You will be disqualified should this rule be broken.

7) Actual food may not be used on the Tabletop displays to portray your menu items. Food items may be used as props only.
8) Wood voting boxes with your Tabletop name will be at your area for attendees to put their voting tabs into. Please be aware that these boxes need to be displayed somewhere in your display area.
9) All contestants must complete and return the Advanced Shipping Information Form by Monday, February 14, 2011 and materials must arrive in Las Vegas no later than Monday, February 21, 2011. Catersource and Event Solutions will cover all LVCC on-site drayage or material handling costs.
10) POV (Privately Owned Vehicle) If you plan to transport your equipment in your own vehicle, please contact Freeman for instructions (702.263.1404).
11) Attendees will be able to watch while you set-up your Tabletop display on Tuesday between Noon-6:00pm during the Tradeshow. The contest area will be stantioned, but will not be out of sight.
12) Tabletops will be judged in two categories during the Tradeshow on Wednesday:
Best of Show winners are selected by popular attendee vote. Conference attendees will vote for their favorite Tabletop during the Tradeshow on Wednesday 9:00am – 2:00pm. Attendees will each be issued one voting tab and then place the voting tab in the voting box of their choice. An independent panel will count the tabs to determine the winners.
Design Award winners will be selected by the Catersource and Event Solutions Advisory Boards. A first place winner will be awarded in each of three design categories: Most Innovative (the unique use of materials); Most Creative (best implementation of a theme); and Most Viable Concept (functional, practical design).
13) All winners will be announced at the Conference Closing Session on Wednesday, March 2 at 5:30 at The Cosmopolitan.
14) Tabletop contestants must have at least one person in full paid attendance at the 2011 Catersource Conference or the Event Solutions Idea Factory and only one contest entry per company or organization is allowed. Non-attendees may assist with the setup of the display.
15) Contestants agree to allow attendees to photograph and/or video their buffets. Catersource and Event Solutions are given permission to use photos and/or video of the displays in Catersource and/or Event Solutions magazines and/or marketing.

CATERSOURCE T-SHIRT DESIGN CONTEST RULES
1) You can enter as many designs as you would like, but you must have one attendee in full paid attendance at the 2011 Catersource Conference or the Event Solutions Idea Factory for EACH design you enter. Vendors/exhibitors are not eligible to enter this contest.
2) Winners will be selected by attendee vote at the 2011 Catersource Conference & Tradeshow. Designs will be displayed at the Catersource Store during the Conference where attendees can place votes for their favorite design. Winners will be announced after the Conference in the March issue of Get Fresh and in the May/June issue of Catersource magazine.
3) All submitted designs must be 100% original and not infringe on any copyright. By entering the contest you agree that your work is your own.
4) All t-shirt designs must meet the specified production requirements:
• Catering-related message, graphic, phrase or symbolism.
• Designs can fit anywhere on the t-shirt body or arms (except seems).
• Only one color is allowed, in one imprint area
• Vector artwork is preferred, EPS and AI files for the best possible quality. High-res raster files are also acceptable.
5) The Catersource creative department will preview all designs before they are entered into the contest. Designs that do not meet production standards will be returned. We’ll be happy to work with you to meet the specifications for production, but designs that cannot be made to fit specifications will be rejected.
6) By entering the contest you give Catersource the right to publish your work in Catersource magazine, e-newsletters, our website and to use your design on our t-shirts for sale online at at Catersource events/conferences.
