Below are the official contest rules for the 2010 Catersource Boxed Lunch Contest, Tabletop Contest and the Catersource magazine Recipe Contest. Please read the following contest rules carefully before completing your entry(ies):

All contestants must be attendees of the 2010 Conference AND must purchase a ticket to the “Out of the Box” Boxed Lunch Event in order to participate in this competition.
A maximum of two attendees can form a “team” to create each entry and each “team” is allowed to create no more than two entries.
Participants will provide the box as well as all the ingredients, supplies and accessories required to build their boxed lunch. The boxed lunches you make will not be served, they are for display, voting and judging only. You can use real food as part of your box display.
Plastic gloves will be provided and are required to be worn, your hair must also be pulled back when building your boxes. Also provided are kitchen and paper towels, one small, inexpensive paring-size knife, and one cutting board per team. You may bring your own knives. (Remember: you will need to put them in your checked luggage if you fly.) You may also wear chef coats or aprons if you wish, but they are not required or provided.
Please arrive at the luncheon location on MONDAY between 11:30am and noon. Your workstation will be assigned at that time. There will be brief introductions and then the contest will begin. You will have 25 minutes to create your boxed lunch entry.
After you finish making your boxed lunch, entries will be placed on a display table with a number assigned for voting. The votes will be tallied, and winners will be revealed at the end of the lunch.
The finished presentations in the Most Viable Concept and Best Themed Creation will be judged by a panel of judges and the Best in Show will be decided by popular vote of those in attendance at the lunch.
When the judging is finished, boxed lunches will be available for photography and viewing for the rest of the lunch time period.
Prizes are as follows:
First, second and third place will be awarded in each category.
First Place:
$250 cash, 2 complimentary registrations to Catersource 2011 and a plaque/trophy
Second Place:
2 complimentary registrations to Catersource 2011
Third Place:
1 complimentary registration to Catersource 2011
All winners will be features in Catersource magazine, on catersource.com and in the Catersource e-newsletter, Get Fresh.
In case of a tie, prizes will be split between the winners

All contestants must be attendees of the 2010 Conference.
Each display must consist of a table with seating for eight, and fit within a 10’x15’ space with a 12’ height restriction.
You may use any materials you want but, non-Catersource Conference Sponsors may NOT be visually or verbally promoted at this contest without written permission of Catersource. You will be disqualified should this rule not be followed.
Attendees will be able to watch while you set-up on Tuesday between Noon-6:00pm during the Tradeshow. The contest area will be stantioned, but will not be out of sight.
Best of Show winners are selected by popular vote, Table Top Design Award winners are selected by the Catersource Advisory Boards. All winners will be announced at the Conference Closing Session on Wednesday, March 10, 2010.
Conference attendees will vote for their favorite Tabletop. This will be done by issuing a voting slip to each attendee. The attendees will then place the voting slip in the voting box of their choice. An independent panel will count the slips to determine the winners.
Wood voting boxes with your Tabletop name will be at your table top area for attendees to put their voting slips in them. Please be aware that these boxes need to be displayed somewhere in your display area.
The Catersource staff will assign you a 10’x15’ section with a 72” round table. We will also provide 8 banquet chairs. You must notify us in advance if you intend on providing your own chairs and/or table.
Actual food menu items may not be used on the Tabletop displays. Food may not be used to portray your menu items. Food items may be used as props only.
No open flame is permitted. All other fire codes need to be observed.
We will provide a 72” round table that the Las Vegas Convention Center has in stock for your display. All other equipment and design elements including specialty chairs or tables, linens, floral and other design elements are the contestant’s responsibility. Standard 5amp/120v electricity will be provided if requested. Any other electrical requirements are available for a fee from the Convention Center which is a union hall.
Contestants must have at least one-person attending the 2010 Conference. Non-attendees may assist with the setup of the display.

Tabletop Design Award winners will be selected by the Catersource Advisory Board and judged in three categories:
• Most Innovative (the unique use of materials)
• Most Viable Concept (functional, practical design)
• Most Creative (best implementation of a theme)
Winners in each category will receive $500 cash, two Catersource 2011 registration certificates and a plaque.

The Tabletop Contest is taking place on the Tradeshow floor at the Las Vegas Convention Center .
There will be no carpeting provided. The space has cement floors. You are allowed to provide your own floor covering.
Shipping All contestants must complete and return the Advanced Shipping Information Form by Monday, February 15, 2010 and materials must arrive in Las Vegas no later than Friday, February 19, 2010.

Catersource will cover all LVCC on-site drayage or material handling costs.
Catersource is not responsible for accidents, damage, theft or losses for those participating in the contest.

Contest Period: Contest begins at 9:01 a.m. Eastern Daylight Time (EDT) on May 8, 2009 and ends at 4:00 p.m. EDT on FEBRUARY 15, 2010 (the "Entry Period").
Agreement to Official Rules: By participating each entrant agrees to these Official Rules and Sponsor’s (Catersource) decisions, which are final in all matters related to this Contest.
How to enter: To enter the Contest, entrants must create an original recipe that is appropriate for Catersource and send the recipe by email or post with their name, address and phone number (“entry(ies)”) to recipes@catersource.com or Catersource, 2909 Hennepin Avenue South, Minneapolis, MN 55408. All contestants must be attendees of the 2010 Conference. Entries without name, address and phone number will be void. All entries must be received between 9:01 AM Eastern Standard Time (“EST”) on May 8, 2009, and 11:59 PM. EST on February 15, 2010 (the “Contest Period”). In the event of a dispute over the identity of an entrant or ownership of the submission, the entry will be disqualified. All entries become the property of Catersource and will not be acknowledged or returned.
Ownership: By entering the
Contest, you represent and warrant to the Sponsor that: (i) the recipe
you submit is wholly original and does not infringe upon or otherwise
violate any right of any person, firm or entity; (ii) you have own all
right, title and interest necessary to submit the recipe in the Contest
in accordance with these Official Rules; (iii) no person other than
you, nor any entity, has any right, title or interest in and to any
part of the recipe; (iv) the recipe has not been previously published
or submitted in any other Contest or competitions and/or to any media,
including, without limitation, any cookbooks, magazines, postcards or
calendars; and (iv) you are not subject to any agreement or
arrangement, including without limitation, that would interfere with
your entering this Contest and granting all the rights granted
hereunder or in any other required documentation. You irrevocably
assign to the Catersource (“Assignee”) all right, title and interest
(including copyrights) in and to the recipe submitted with your Entry
which will become and remain the exclusive property of the Assignee,
including any future rights associated with the recipe. Assignee, and
their respective licensees and designees, shall have the right, with no
obligation, to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, create
derivative works from, distribute, and display the recipe for use in
menus in Loews Hotels and/or for any purpose (including without
limitation for purposes of advertising, publicizing, and promoting the
Contest or the Assignee), in any media whatsoever, now or hereafter
known, throughout the universe in perpetuity, without compensation
(monetary or otherwise) or notice to you.
Catersource and its
agencies are not responsible for illegible, late, lost, damaged,
misdirected, or incomplete entries or interrupted or unavailable
network, server or other connections, miscommunications, failed
telephone or computer hardware or software or telephone transmissions
or technical failures, Internet Service Provider/network/web site
accessibility or availability, garbled or jumbled transmissions or
other errors of any kind, whether human, mechanical or electronic;
including without limitation the incomplete, incorrect or inaccurate
capture of entry information. Catersource reserves the right, in its
sole discretion, to disqualify any individual found tampering (or
attempting to tamper) with the entry process or the Contest. Any
attempt by an entrant to deliberately damage or undermine the
legitimate operation of the Contest is in violation of criminal and
civil laws and should such an attempt be made, Sponsor reserves the
right to seek remedies and damages from any such entrant to the fullest
extent permitted by law, including criminal prosecution. In case of
dispute as to identity of an emailed entrant, entry will be declared
made by the authorized account subscriber of the e-mail account, who
must comply with these Official Rules. All entries become the sole
property of the Sponsor and will not be returned.
Prizes: Grand Prize (7): The six winning entries will each receive a complimentary registration to the 2010 Catersource Conference in Las Vegas. Taxes on Prize are solely the responsibility of winner. Prize is non-transferable. No prize substitution, except by Catersource for a prize of equal or greater value if due to prize unavailability. No cash equivalent/redemptions. Potential Grand Prize winners will be notified by mail and will be required to sign, have notarized and return an unmodified Affidavit of Eligibility and Liability/Publicity release form within seven (7) days of issuance in order to receive the prize. If prize notification is returned as undeliverable, or any prize documentation is not submitted as required by Catersource, the prize will be forfeited. Approximate Retail Value (ARV): $800. All travel-related expenses, including but not limited to, air fare, hotel, ground transportation, meals, gratuities and incidental hotel expenses, are the sole responsibility of the winner.
Release of Liability: By participating, you release Catersource and Sponsoring Entities and their respective subsidiaries, affiliates, partners, employees, directors, agents, advertising agencies, and all others associated with the development and execution of this Contest, from any and against any and all injury, loss or damage caused or claimed to be caused by your participation in the Contest and/or the acceptance, awarding, receipt, use and/or misuse of the prizes, and you agree that these entities are in no matter responsible for any warranty, representation, or guarantee, expressed or implied, in fact or in law, relating to the promotion and/or the awarding of the prizes. Notwithstanding the foregoing, in the event that the preceding release is determined by a court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid or void for any reason, entrants agree that, by entering the Contest, (i) any and all disputes, claims, and causes of action arising out of or in connection with the Contest, or any prizes awarded, shall be resolved individually without resort to any form of class action; (ii) any claims, judgments and awards shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, including costs associated with entering the Contest, but in no event attorney’s fees; and (iii) under no circumstances will any entrant be permitted to obtain any award for, and entrant hereby waives all rights to claim, punitive, incidental or consequential damages and any and all rights to have damages multiplied or otherwise increased and any other damages, other than damages for actual out-of-pocket expenses.
Additional Rules: Entrant agrees to hold harmless Catersource and Sponsoring Entities and their respective officers, directors, employees, divisions, affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising and promotional agencies, from any claim by any third party relating to any rights in any recipe. By participating in the Contest, entrant agrees to be bound by these Official Rules, including all eligibility requirements and all decisions of Catersource, which are final and binding in all matters relating to the Contest. Catersource is not responsible for: (i) lost, late, misdirected, postage due, damaged, garbled or illegible entries; (ii) error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operations or transmission, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to or alterations of entry materials, or for technical, network, telephone equipment, electronic, computer, hardware or software malfunctions of any kind, or inaccurate transmission of or failure to receive entry information by Catersource on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or email or any combination thereof; (iii) any injury or damage to entrant’s or any other person’s computer related to or resulting from participating in the Contest; or (iv) printing or other errors.
Catersource
reserves the right to: (i) permanently disqualify from any Contest if
Catersource believes that any person has intentionally violated these
official rules; and (ii) suspend, modify or terminate the Contest if
Catersource believes, in its sole discretion, that malfunction, error,
disruption or damage is impairing or will impair the administration,
security, fairness, integrity of the Contest. If the Contest is
terminated before the end date, the judges will determine the winners
from all eligible entries received as of the termination date if
fairness justifies this action determined in Sponsor’s sole discretion.
Catersource reserves the right to disqualify any unauthorized
entries. Entering the Contest constitutes permission to use the
entrant’s recipe submitted as part of the entry process, and the name,
voice, photo, and likeness of the entrant for advertising and publicity
purposes, without further compensation.
